How to take a good photo with your phone

No need to worry if you don't have a picture ready! It's totally okay. You can use your cell phone to take a picture easily, and we'll do the rest!

Before you do that, let's look at some tips and tricks to get the best picture for your trading cards. These simple rules will make both you and us happy with the outcome!

TIP

Clean Lens = Clean Shots

Before you take the picture, make sure your lens is clean and doesn't have any grime, fingerprints, or dust on it. This will help us make your picture look even better when we enhance it. So, give your lens a quick wipe, and we'll take care of the rest to make your picture awesome!

Tip

Don’t Zoom In

When you're taking a picture for your trading card, try to include enough of the surroundings in the image. Avoid zooming in because it can make the picture blurry and not look good. Instead, get close to your player and take the picture. This way, your picture will turn out much better and clearer!

Tip

Shoot at eye level

For the coolest look and to make your player appear strong and super cool, take the picture from an eye-level angle or a little lower. This way, we'll capture your player looking tall and powerful. If it's an action shot, it will make the action look even more exciting and awesome! So, get ready to snap the perfect shot and let your player shine!

Tip

Rule of Thirds

The rule of thirds is a helpful trick for photographers, and it's easy to use! It helps you take better pictures and makes your trading card look awesome. Here's how it works: On most phones, you'll find a guide that divides the screen into three parts both horizontally and vertically. When you take a picture, try putting your player where these lines intersect in the middle. This way, your player will look just right and your picture will be top-notch! Give it a try and see the magic happen!

Tip

Use natural lighting and NOT flash

Using natural light is a great idea when taking pictures because it makes everything look much better! Natural light is gentler and kinder to the way people look. It brings out the real colors and details of your player, making them look even more amazing on their trading card. In contrast, using a flash can sometimes make people look washed out or create harsh shadows. So, whenever you can, try to take pictures in natural light, like outside on a sunny day or near a window with lots of light coming in. You'll be amazed at how fantastic the results can be!

Tip

Turn off filters

When taking a picture of your player, it's best not to use filters. Filters can change how the picture looks and may not show the player's true appearance. If you don't use filters, our special process can make the picture look even better! We can enhance the image to make your player look awesome on their trading card. So, keep the filters off, and let us work our magic to create the most accurate and amazing image of your player!

Tip

Use your phone’s high quality setting

When you take a picture of your player, it's a good idea to use your phone's highest quality image setting. This setting makes sure the picture is super clear and detailed. When we have a high-quality image, we can create the best possible trading card for your player. It will look absolutely awesome with all the colors and details just right. So, remember to use the highest quality setting on your phone to get the best results for your trading card!
